Buenas Noches fellow adventures
« on: March 02, 2016, 08:07:38 pm »
Just found out about ya'll and like the concept,  a forum where (hopefully) people can get together without having to pop a brewsky, or where the official sign is not the flying finger of approval, never seizes to amaze me how far our society has sank  :-[  enough of that, I'm currently typing this from the hotel Maria Dolores, in Chihuahua Mexico, I'm on a 8k mile  journey that includes 4 missions based objectives, I'm 2k miles into it headed to my second stop, I'll start a RR on here when I get there in 2 or 3 days, and get settled in, I have a RR on another forum right now  (not sure if it's appropriate  to post a link), and no its not that forum, I'll do an abbreviated  start to get caught up then continue on from there, I'll also give a more informative intro, oh ya did I mention I'm on a slightly modified ktm 450  ;D  until then keep her out of the ditches, unless it's on purpose,

Hi Gary, glad you made it over here to our forum, too!  Praying for your safe travels.

The URL Gary mentioned is http://ridedualsport.com/forum/index.php?topic=4854

I'm thrilled that you are posting a RR on Ride Dual Sport, it's a great witness.  RDS is pretty family friendly and I've posted a couple RRs over there as well.

Vaya con Dios!

Thanks for the post portabill, the report is behind as I didn't have internet for a week, and I spent last night cruising this site, currently in creel, think I'll push hard tomorrow and try to make navojoa, if I get there a little late it won't  matter, will see how time goes, had an adventurous  day for sure,  we need to get a group up and come to creel for a few days at least, plenty places to ride. Very cool!  I'm excited to see the report.  Good luck, be safe and God bless.  That's a lot of miles on a 450!  When you get around to it give us some details on the machine as well.  I'm curious if you're just that tough or what you might have done to make it distance-ride worthy.

so I am a little behind here  ;D sorry for the delays gents haven't been able to post in 3 months, me RR is now current. To answer the ? about the bike and modifications, a new rear wheel with cush hub from the fine folks at Woody's, seat concepts seat cover, better than anything I've used on my 990, bar risers and that's about it except for better lights, midas e-07 rear tire, full knobby on front, which does effect the ride a little, not a bike to run on the interstate for hours at a time although i run up to Obregon which is an hrs ride with no discomfort, I can feel the wind from other vehicles more than on my 990, but its no problem, I didn't build the bike for interstate running, I set it up for back roads and off roads, don't regret my choice at all, around town and through the mtns the smaller bike rocks, I would easily take it around the world or top to bottom in the Americas. I will start posting some pics next week that aren't on the other RR as well as take pics of tire wear to show what you can expect running off road tires on pavement, my front hasn't held up near as well as hoped, and would change the high beam on my lights even though I haven't ridden at night down here and don't plan too but you never know.
