A) Suzuki DR650SE 2006
B) Heidenau K60 Scout F-90/90R21 R-130/80R17
C) 80% Black Top / Concrete commuting - 130KM Round Trip
D) current 400Kms
      - previous K60
      120/90/R17
       7400 Kms
E) Yes - would however suggest going to the 130 version as tread depth is significantly better

A) Suzuki DL650 2006
B) Shinko 705/Full-Bore M40 (same plant as Shinko 705, but larger grooves)
C) 80-90% pavement (just the nature of California ADV riding)
D) Rear Shinko 705s and Full-Bore M40s 6500-7500 miles
Front Shinko 705 #1 was an early model bias ply and started separating after 10k miles
Front Shinko 705 #2 has 14k miles and has another 5-10k in it.  It won't wear out!
E) Yes, would recommend

Note: I have a set of Shinko 805s knobbies ready to mount when I have time.  VStrom guys are linking them a lot

A) BMW r1100GS 1996
B) Heidenau K60 Scout  rear: 150/70B17 front:110/80B19
C) High speed pavement/twisties, gravel, rock/trail/mud
D) Last set about 12,000 current set only 1,000
E) Recommend Yes

I was very impressed with my first set so I got a second pair and have advocated for these tires and know 4 other sets that were bought off my recommendation.  That said, this spring I did have the side wall belt break on me and I was pretty disappointed.  I was riding some county road that's in poor condition and had some large grave/rocks and on the way home i noticed in the the back end was giving me more give than usual, checked the pressure and it was low.  I still have enough faith in them that I bought another pair....rocks can be hard on the side walls of a 600lb bike.  Hopefully I kept that factual enough and no one feels i'm dissing the tires.  They are pretty impressive on and off pavement in my opinion and i plan to continue riding on them.

A) KTM 620RXCe 1998
B) Motoz Mountain Hybrid 120/100/18
C) Paved twisties, gravel, rock/mud/trail
D) Current mileage 1,000 miles
E) Recommend Yes

Very grippy, good on the hard pack/rocks/pavement, weakness is in the mud but still not bad at all.  I'm expecting about 2k miles from the tire but am not sure what front to pair it with...currently pirellie MT43 but it's not wearing as well as the Motoz tire.

Here's a pic of them new:

Here they are with about 1000 miles on them

I ran a lot of the Heidenau K60 and have switched over to the Mitas E-07 Dakars.
Better at everything. Some pictures from our Alaska ride.

Hmmm.... I have been hearing this.  I'm not sure I want to take the risk. My biggest concern is handling.  How hard do you push it on the pavement? I ride superbikes and drag knee so I'm pretty picky about the profile of the tire and how well it works at the limit of the tire.  I bit the pavement last year because I put a set of avons I got cheap on my GS and was hammering the twisties. It had the same "size" but a very different profile and you ran out of tire quicker. From what I can see in pics it looks like they have a slower slope and therefore would handle more slugishly on the pavement as opposed to the k60 but I don't know....they may be different in person.

edited- some reason i typed "risk" and it bleeped me out with astricts that was weird.  i promise i wasn't cussin bout my tires!

I think they out handle K60s way better on twisty black top.
Friend Matt wanted to stay with the K60s but tried the Mitas and said he will never go back.
